We're bringing Brazilian futsal to Asheville and the rest of Western North Carolina.. FTA is opening an academy in Asheville, with year-round Sunday training at IC Imagine, and our very first session is Sunday, November 1.

For years we've developed players across our North Carolina academies. Now families in and around Asheville get the same thing on their side of the mountains: real technical training, coached the FTA way, all winter long, no field or weather required.

What futsal in Asheville looks like

Our Asheville program trains boys and girls ages 7 to 17 on Sunday afternoons at IC Imagine, with indoor sessions built around touches, speed of decision, and control under pressure. Every session is organized by age and experience, so beginners find their feet while experienced players get pushed.

Futsal is played on a hard court with a smaller, heavier ball. There's nowhere to hide and no long ball to chase, and that's exactly why it builds technical players. It's the method behind so much of the talent that comes out of Brazil and Spain, and it's what we've built our academies on.

Best of all, sessions run year-round with no seasonal commitment, so your player keeps developing through the winter instead of waiting on field conditions.

Why futsal works, backed by the numbers

  1. 6x more touches. Youth futsal players touch the ball up to six times more per session than in traditional outdoor soccer, ideal for control, rhythm, and footwork.

  2. 210% faster decisions. Tight spaces force quicker choices, sharpening game IQ and reaction speed that carry straight to the outdoor field.

  3. 4x more shots. Fewer players and a smaller court mean more chances to attack, shoot, and score, building real confidence in front of goal.

  4. 30+ million players worldwide. Futsal is the go-to development method in the top footballing nations, and now it's here in Asheville.

This is more than Sunday training. It's a place where young players build confidence, creativity, and a genuine love for the game, guided by coaches working from Brazilian futsal methodology, alongside motivated peers who push them to get better.

The best way to understand what we do is to see it. We're inviting Asheville families to a free intro session, no commitment, just come play and experience the program in action.

Spots in each age group are limited, so if your player wants to be part of our first sessions on November 1, register early.
